“Fresh from my jabs from Sussex Travel Clinic. The premises are walk-able from home opposite the hospital and to the left of St John Ambulance. Jane is very well informed . She took my current medical condition without trepidation and showed complete medical professionalism.”
“I wasn’t sure about getting a rabies jab before I went to India, I mean what are the chances of getting bitten by a dog! I spoke to Sussex Travel Clinic and they immediately said yes, its really important. So I put my sensible hat on and had the 3 pre-exposure shots. It didn’t hurt and I only felt a little tired in the evening after.
A month later I was walking back to my guest house in Kerala and there was there little excited dog jumping up to say hello. I forgot where I was and gentle put my hand down to calm it down. In its excitement to say hello it snagged my hand with its teeth and drew a small amount of blood. My heart sank as I knew I would have to get more shots. You don’t get sick with Rabies, its not like getting the flu, it kills you. I rang Sussex travel clinic and they advised me on the course of action I needed to take and also visited the local hospital in Kerala who gave me the first of the post exposure shots. The hospital in India, was quick, clean efficient and kind.
3 weeks later I was sitting on the beach in Goa, enjoying the sun when a puppy came running along the beach, sensible hat went on and I didn’t interact with the dog, tempting as it was as it was so cute. My friend started playing with it and it started being a little boisterous so she pushed it away, in its excitement it ran to the closest thing it saw and bit it. Unfortunately that was my arm. I rushed back to my hut and gave the wound a good wash and smothered it in Iodine whilst on the phone to Sussex Travel Clinic again.
With some excellent advice from some UK experts and the local hospital we planned a course of action for treatment ( which in this case I didn’t need as it was so close to the first bite). Always make sure you get the most up to date advice.
I am so relieved that I had the pre exposure injections and that I had access to valuable and correct information. My insurance company gave me the incorrect information so make sure you know what course of treatment you need and back it up, both in the uk and in the country you travel to.
There is a big inoculation program ongoing in India for local dogs but rabies is still prevalent. Why take the chance get the shots.
Sussex Travel Clinic, really helped me, they gave me sensible advice before I went and were calm and helpful when I needed advice. I cant thank them enough. “
‘I just thought I would provide some feedback on my recent visit to your Hove clinic .I found I was able to book an appointment at short notice The premises provided a clean confident atmosphere , the staff were friendly and professional , They had the treatment I required in stock .’
The pricing of my treatment I think was very competitive , I would certainly recommended the Sussex Travel Clinic , and would use their services again should the need arise.
‘I have always found the Clinic to be extremely friendly and professional. The opening hours are a godsend for the average working person who is unable to attend between 9-5. Would thoroughly recommend.’
‘I got helpful and detailed advice quickly from my first email. I felt that the service I was got was excellent and the advice was honest.’

‘Fab service nice knowledgeable people……..travelled feeling safe and secure …’
‘The Worthing premises are opposite the hospital and to the left of St John Ambulance building. They are smart clean and well maintained. My nurse Jane is very well informed and had my computerised records from an earlier visit to the Brighton clinic to hand. She took note of my current respiratory condition without fear and showed medical professionalism as opposed to financial gain. I was advised as to my vaccine needs in the month I was travelling in Vietnam, Cambodia & Thailand from a sophisticated piece of software which showed when the disease baring mosquitoes were abundant. Vaccine was therefore unnecessary in several cases in the month of my trip. In my opinion the total cost of the visit was excellent value for money and I have already recommended this clinic to friends and family.’
‘My GP surgery was unable to provide the necessary vaccine (typhoid) for my trip to SE Asia, apparently due to a general shortage. A friend, doing a similar trip, had been told about Sussex Travel Clinic by her GP practice, so I went on-line, checked out the website and booked an appointment. I found the whole process extremely easy, and the nurse I saw was very helpful. The whole process was cheaper than if I had been able to do it through my GP. That has got to be good news! An excellent service all round and I will not hesitate in using them again in the future. ‘
